The Cove is an exciting end-of-trip facility at 201 Kent Street, Sydney.

The Cove is not just an end-of-trip facility; it's a haven, offering two well-being studios, luxury shower and change room facilities and even a complimentary towel service designed to elevate the end user's experience.

Lightwaves worked in collaboration with Gray Puksand to develop a unique, focused lighting approach to empower and enhance the design philosophy.

With no natural light, there was significant reliance on lighting design. Our approach drew out and accentuated the highly designed finishes and textures using carefully considered and positioned indirect lighting, concentrating on a glare-free experience. Concealment and close coordination with all parties, as well as integrating joinery with lighting for an accentuated brightness that conveys the design's luxury and tranquillity. ‘The Cove’ entrance area consists of organic curved cove lighting and miniature garden spikes featuring natural greenery. 

To ensure users had the proper soft light wash, integrated mirror lighting was necessary. The Wellness/mediation areas consisted of suspended linear uplights that added to the unexpected and calming experience. A digital lighting control system allows for seamless transitions of the scenes via touch screen.
